ABOUT ME

I've loved radio since I was knee high to a grasshopper, and became England's youngest commercial radio presenter back in 1994, when I landed a Sunday evening show on Minster FM in my home town York.

After doing my Politics and Communications degree at the University of Liverpool, I found my way back into broadcasting at the age of 25, and have been there ever since!

​

I racked up 13 years at various stations within the UKRD Group, before hosting the Trax FM Breakfast Show in South Yorkshire and North Notts for three years. I'm still setting the early alarm clock for Tameside Radio Breakfast, which I've presented since September 2020, and I also present shows for seven other radio stations. During these crazy times, the personal connection offered by this medium has never been more vital.

As well as radio, I have hosted events, quizzes, Q&As and in conversations with author Dan Brown, artists The Real Thing and Toyah Willcox, and footballers Gareth Southgate and Danny Mills, to name a few.

My main strength is being able to communicate effectively - verbally, in writing, in person and online. I set up my freelance business to continue doing what I love and to help the community around me by telling their stories, talking on the airwaves and keeping people company.

I also love newspapers, going to the cinema and am in the world's top 14% of Phil Collins listeners, according to my latest Spotify stats.
